Raster Page

The product settings raster page dialog window allows the user to set default values when adding new raster layers to the map.

The dialog controls are:

Layer

  • Visible

Default value. Show or hides the data source default setting. Use the Display style options to show or hide different style aspects of the data source.

Raster Settings

  • Stretch Algorithm

Default value. The stretch algorithm used for contrast enhancement when scaling the raster color space for visualization purposes.
  • Minimum

Default value. Percent Clip Minimum Value.
  • Maximum

Default value. Percent Clip Maximum Value.
  • Sigma N

    Default value. Standard deviations multiplier.
  • Dynamic Range Adjustment

Default value. If true, dynamically adjusts the histogram to the viewport in order to clip the color space for enhanced visualization.
  • Transparency

Default value. The transparency of the raster. The range is 0 to 255 where 0 is completely transparent and 255 is completely opaque.

Feature Graphics

  • Display

Default value. If true, the features of the layer will be displayed as a graphics.

Terrain Settings

  • Relief Shading

Default value. The relief shading algorithm to apply to the raster image. Typically used for elevation data sources.
  • Rough Terrain

Default value. Uses Horn's formula to create better results with rougher terrain. Uses Zevenbergen & Thorne formula for smoother terrain.
  • Include Edge

Default value. Include edge values and near no data values in computations.
  • Vertical Exaggeration

Default value. Vertical exaggeration used to pre-multiply the elevations values to exaggerate the terrain.
  • Sun Elevation Angle

Default value. Elevation or altitude of the light, in degrees. 90 if the light comes from above the elevation data source, 0 if it is raking light.
  • Sun Azimuth Angle

Default value. Azimuth angle of the light, in degrees. 0 if it comes from the top of the raster, 90 from the east, the default value, 315, should rarely be changed as it is the value generally used to generate shaded maps.
  • Use Percent Slope

Default value. If true the slope will be expressed as percent slope. Otherwise, it is expressed as degrees.
  • Use Zero For Flat Areas

Default value. Computes a value of 0 for flat areas with slope of 0, instead of -9999.
  • Color Match

Default value. Determines how color values are computed when matching elevation values to colors in the color ramp.
  • Color Ramp

Default value. The color ramp file used for this raster data source when the Relief Shading option is set to Color Relief or Color Relief Shaded.

Feature Graphics

  • Display

Default value. If true, the features of the layer will be displayed as a graphics.

Coverage Graphics

  • Display

Default value. If true, the coverage area of the layer will be displayed as a graphic.
  • Brush Style

Default value. The brush pattern used to display the coverage graphic.
  • Brush Color

Default value. The brush color of the coverage graphic.
  • Brush Texture

Default value. An image file that is used to brush the coverage graphic.
  • Pen Style

Default value. The pen pattern used to display the coverage graphic.
  • Pen Color

Default value. The pen color of the coverage graphic.
  • Pen Width

Default value. The coverage graphic pen width.
  • Transparency

Default value. The transparency of the coverage graphic. The range is 0 to 255 where 0 is completely transparent and 255 is completely opaque.

Label Graphics

  • Display

Default value. If true, a label for each of the layer features will be displayed as a graphic.
  • Background

Default value. If true, a background graphic will be displayed behind the label text.
  • Font

Default value. The font characteristics for the label text.
  • Italic

Default value. If true, the label text will be italic or slanted.
  • Underline

Default value. If true, the label text will be underlined.
  • Strikeout

Default value. If true, the label text will have a line through the middle.
  • Text Color

Default value. The text color of the label.
  • Brush Style

Default value. The brush pattern used to display the background graphic.
  • Brush Color

Default value. The label graphic brush color.
  • Brush Texture

Default value. An image file that is used to brush the background graphic.
  • Pen Style

Default value. The pen pattern used to display the background graphic.
  • Pen Color

Default value. The pen color of the background graphic.
  • Pen Width

Default value. The background pen width.
  • Transparency

Default value. The transparency of the label graphics. The range is 0 to 255 where 0 is completely transparent and 255 is completely opaque.
