Software

The Axis suite.

Axis is a set of desktop and server applications for authoring geospatial data and publishing it over standard protocols. Map Publisher Desktop is the interface to all of it; the three servers do the work it hands off.

Axis Map Publisher Pro

  1. Desktop application Map Publisher Desktop Authors and publishes geospatial data from the desktop. It is also the primary interface to the rest of the suite — the servers are driven from its docking panes, toolbars and dialogs rather than from consoles of their own. 187 topics
  2. Server application Personal Map Server Publishes authored maps over WMS, WMTS, KML and XYZ tile protocols from a lightweight HTTP server. Intended for the intranet, and shipped as an optional feature of the Map Publisher Desktop installation. 23 topics PDF manual
  3. Server application Spatial Library Server Indexes geospatial files across a network into catalogs of metadata, so footprints and imagery can be found and selected on the map instead of hunted for on disk. 17 topics PDF manual
  4. Server application Parallel Processing Server Distributes publishing work across many machines as atomic tasks — one tile written, one file's metadata read — so preparation runs at the speed of the hardware available rather than one computer. 20 topics PDF manual

Documentation is published in full for every application, and each manual is downloadable as a PDF where one exists.
